John King Career
John King joined CNN in 1997 and held various positions throughout his career. From 1999 to 2005, he served as the senior White House correspondent. He was later appointed as CNN's chief national correspondent, a role he still holds. King made appearances on CNN's nightly news programs, including The Situation Room and Anderson Cooper 360°, and occasionally served as an anchor.
In addition to his other roles, King hosted a talk show called State of the Union, which replaced CNN's Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer. On November 12, 2009, it was announced that King would take over the timeslot previously occupied by Lou Dobbs.
