Arshad Sharif, a Pakistanian Anchor/Reporter/Writer, was working with ARY News where he was serving the station as an Investigative Reporter/Programme Anchor for the Current Affairs/Analyst. Upon hearing about the death of his father, Major Ashraf Sharif, left Banne Cantonment refusing a chauffeur or escort. A few kilometers away, unfortunately, his vehicle veered off the road and hit a tree, killing him. The duo, Commander Muhammad Sharif and Major Ashraf Sharif, were laid to rest with full military honours at the H-11 Graveyard.

He was unfortunately killed on the 23rd of October 2022 in Kenya by the Kenya Police Service.

Sharif was unfortunately shot and killed in Kajiado, Kenya, by the local police on the 23rd of October 2022. According to the Kenyan Police, they described the shooting as a case of "mistaken identity." There, were, however, speculations on social media that he had been assassinated. The 24th of October saw the Kenyan Independent Police Oversight Authority announce an investigation into Sharif's death.
Reaction
The news of Arshad's death was met with shock in Pakistan and abroad. The President of Pakistan, Arif Alvi described Sharif's death as a "great loss to journalism and Pakistan." On the other hand, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif described this killing as "shocking news." The former Prime Minister, Imran Khan wrote on his Twitter Account that he was "shocked at the brutal murder of Arshad Sharif who paid the ultimate price for speaking the truth- his life."
Afzal Butt, the president of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists(PFUJ), expressed his grief at the news and called for an inquiry into the killing of Sharif. His fellow journalist, Kamran Khan questioned the government on Twitter and asked the Prime Minister to take "the nation in confidence." On the other hand, his close friends and colleagues arrived at Sharif's home to express their condolences which includes Imran Khan, and Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad.

He was privileged to be a winner of a 2012 Agahi Award. Asides from this, he has also worked as an anchor with Adeel Raja as his producer winning the 2016 Investigative Journalist of the Year Award for the program Powerplay. The year 2008 saw him being awarded Agahi's Peoples' Choice Awards: Favorite Current Affairs Anchor- Male category. The year 2019 also saw him receive the Pride of Performance Award from the President of Pakistan.
