Antico is employed by Boston 25 News, serving as a Broadcast Meteorologist. In this capacity, he fulfills the role of an on-air meteorologist, overseeing the daily weather forecasts. As a native of the South Shore region, specifically Cohasset, he takes delight in predicting the weather for the place he regards as his hometown.
His profound interest in meteorology and weather has been a lifelong affair, ignited by the weather beacon atop the Old Hancock Tower in downtown Boston. As early as two years old, he would enthusiastically convey the forecast to his family while gazing at the beacon from their city apartment.
His journey into meteorology took a professional turn when he commenced his career as a Weather Intern at WCVB-TV in Needham, Massachusetts. His intern experience spanned from June 2018 to August 2018. His formal career launched with his entry into the WEAU News team in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, where he operated as an On-Air Meteorologist from June 2019 to June 2021. During this tenure, he assumed responsibilities for live broadcasts both in the studio and out in the field.
At WEAU, he was fortunate to cover intense storms and challenging winter conditions. He recollects enduring bitterly cold days with snow-laden landscapes and temperatures plummeting over 20 degrees below zero. His journey then led him to WXIN-TV/Fox 59 News in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he continued his role as an On-Air meteorologist, conducting live broadcasts within the studio and out in the field. Additionally, he served as a weather anchor for both WXIN-TV and its affiliate, WTTV-TV. This phase encompassed his tenure with the FOX 59 News team from August 2021 to May 2023.
During his time in the Hoosier State, he was frequently covering severe weather occurrences. Notably, he vividly recalls the tornado outbreak in March 2023, which spawned almost two dozen tornadoes across the state and stands as the fifth-largest outbreak in its history. During this stint, he also achieved the esteemed Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) certification.
Apart from his meteorological pursuits, he is an avid sports enthusiast. Hockey stands as his long-standing favorite, both in terms of playing and spectating. He also has a deep fondness for baseball and football. Having returned from the Midwest, he expresses his appreciation for the outdoors and the ocean, which he missed during his time away.
