Junior Pope Odonwodo, is a Nigerian Actor known for his appearance in the movie Secret Adventures in 2007, along with the film Bitter Generation in 2010. He was born as Pope Obumneme Odonwodo and began his acting career in the year 2007. Junior Pope unfortunately lost his life in a car accident on the 10th of April 2024.

His wife shared her pain at the loss of his husband and shared the joy she felt when it was announced Junior Pope was alive only for him to pass away on treatment. The duo were proud parents to their three children, whom he managed to keep much information about away from the limelight.

Junior Pope studied accounting but switched to acting in 2004. He started with small roles, including one in "Lost in the Jungle" that same year. In 2006, he joined Nollywood and gained recognition for his role in "Secret Adventure" (2007). This film established a connection with his fans. 

Pope went on to star in over 100 Nollywood movies, including "Throne of Tears" (2008), "Always Mine" (2009), "Mad Sex," "Blood Affair" (2021), "Gbege" (2022), and "No Way Through" (2023). He continued to act in films like "Gbege" (October 2022) and "Honey Money" (April 2023), earning praise for his work.  Junior Pope remained a respected figure in Nollywood until his passing in April 2024.

Junior Pope Odonwodo Death and Funeral Announcement

Tragically, Junior Pope passed away on the 10th of April 2024 at the age of 39. He was on a boat trip after a movie filming location when the vessel capsized at Anam River . The accident resulted in his death and that of three other crew members. The Actors Guild of Nigeria sadly confirmed the news and revealed attempts to revive him were unsuccessful. 

Junior Pope was buried on the 17th of May 2024 in Uwala Abaka, Ukehe hometown, in Nsukka, Igboetiti Local Government Area of Enugu State. His burial commenced at St. Peter's Catholic Parish where his memorial service was held.
