Olatunde Olateju Olaolorun “O-T” Fagbenle (Yoruba: Ọlátúndé Ọlátẹ́jú Ọláọlọ́run Fágbénlé) is an English actor, writer, and director celebrated for his versatility across stage, film, and television. He gained international acclaim for portraying Luke Bankole in The Handmaid’s Tale (2017–2025), a role that earned him an Emmy nomination, and for playing Barack Obama in The First Lady (2022).

Theatre

Fagbenle began his acting journey at 14 with Ritual Theatre Arts, taking the lead in a modernized version of Macbeth, performed internationally and at London’s Bloomsbury Theatre. After training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), he debuted in Les Blancs (2001) at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester and originated the role of Perry in Fallout at the Royal Court.
